Glasgow Geological Society Balmaha Trail

A journey back in time to explore the geology of Balmaha.

6274 were approached by the Glasgow Geological Society to produce an eye-catching information map to appeal to both budding Geologists and the public.

The map details a short scenic trail along the banks of Loch Lomond that uncovers geological events that took place several hundred of million years ago. It is special to Geologists as it is the best place to study the HIghland Boundary Fault and is where three different parts of the Earths crust have come together from different parts of the globe.

We worked with images of rock formations and photography of the breath taking surroundings to complete this leaflet that you will be available in most visitor centres in and around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.
